How is Medicare Different From Medicaid?

It is very usual to confuse Medicare and Medicaid programs, however, at HSM+La’Dorch we’ll tell you all about it!

👉 Medicare and Medicaid are two of the most important programs in the U.S. healthcare system, and there are major differences between them.

✅ Medicare is a federal health insurance program for people who are 65 years or older, younger people with disabilities, or other conditions.

✅ Medicaid is a state-run program that provides health coverage to low-income individuals and families who meet certain eligibility requirements.

Medicaid is administered by individual states; participation in any particular state's version of Medicaid depends on whether or not you qualify for it under that state's rules.

Medicare doesn’t normally cover, nursing home care and personal care services. People with Medicaid usually don’t pay anything for covered medical expenses but may owe a small co-payment for some items or services.
